Guests Get “Cool Yule ” Reception At York’s Monkbar Hotel
It might be the middle of the summer with the temperatures nudging the 80’s, but at one York hotel a number of guests were getting a cool Yule reception!
For the Best Western Monkbar Hotel was launching its festive programme of parties, lunches and dinners with the arrival of Father Christmas and two elves in a horse-drawn carriage!
The award-winning hotel’s director June Nelsey said: “Christmas certainly does get earlier each year, and we are making sure that the Monkbar Hotel is well and truly ahead of the game.
“I know that summer holiday’s are on most people’s minds, but with only 160 shopping days to Christmas, now is the right time to think about booking that memorable Christmas party.
“We have just launched our Festive Party programme and the only ‘cool’ reception our guests will be experiencing when they book with us will be the chill of the wine that we’re including with bookings made before September 1.”
June added: “I’d also like to thank Ray Brown for the kind use of his horse, Rio, and his wonderful carriage. It was his most unusual job of the day!”
