Monkbar Hotel's Misty "Leads" Team Taking Part In Race For Life
For one York hotel it's a case of "on your barks, get set go" as staff get in training for this year's Race for Life.
For the Best Western Monkbar Hotel, has signed up Misty the Labrador to be on hand - and on lead - to help those taking part in the annual fundraiser get in shape.
And, to gain as much exposure for the event as possible, Misty - owned by hotel director June Nelsey - has been bought a special pink coat to wear for the walking sessions.
The Monkbar team is again running this year's Race for Life in memory of former wages clerk, Irene Cartwright, who died of the disease in 2006.
Monkbar Hotel Director June Nelsey, said: "The Race for Life is extremely important to us and to keep spirits, and fitness levels high, we wanted to engage the newest member of our team, Misty.
June added: "We actively encourage all members of staff to get involved with charity fundraisers as we believe it's important to give something back to the community - and we like to have fun when we do it!"
The Monkbar hotel team is taking part in Race for Life at York Racecourse on Sunday, June 28.
