Best Western Monkbar Hotel
Continues Commitment To Employee Training
A York hotel's continued commitment to staff development has seen almost half of its 75-strong team being awarded with nationally recognised qualifications.
Five Best Western Monkbar Hotel employees were the latest in a long line to be presented with either Apprenticeship or National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) certificates.
The qualifications gained include Apprenticeships in Front Office, Food and Drink and Staff Training, and NVQ Level 2 in Staff Training.
Monkbar Hotel Director June Nelsey said: “The staff here are one of the key ingredient to our business success. We have a saying which is ‘it's the team work that makes the dream work', and we believe in investing in our team.
“Our participation in the Apprenticeship and NVQ scheme demonstrates the value we place on them. It also helps them in their day to job, gives them greater confidence and prepares them for promotion.”
Rachel Atkin of training partners Babcock International said: “June clearly understands the value of investing in staff training, and it is encouraging to see the hotel's ongoing commitment to training even during difficult trading conditions due to the economic climate”.
