Monkbar Hotel Hopes Customers Go Wild For New Wine

A York hotel’s tasting session with one of the country’s leading wine critics will hopefully lead to customers going “wild” for a glass or two of a new wine it’s serving up this autumn.

And for every bottle of “Wild Thing” wine sold by the Best Western Monkbar Hotel – which Charles Metcalfe was sampling at the city centre venue - a donation goes to straight to international animal charity, The Born Free Foundation, an organization that works throughout the world to stop individual wild animal suffering and protect threatened species in the wild.

Monkbar Hotel Director June Nelsey said “We are always keen to support charities, and this helps our green credentials as it is the first organic wine on our wine list.

Charles was staying with us during the York Food and Drink Festival, so we asked him for his expert opinion on the ‘Wild Thing’ wine.

Thankfully, Charles was very impressed with these new wines, and “Wild Things” will now feature as our ‘wine of the month’.

We hope it will be a roaring success, for every bottle of Wild Thing wine sold, a donation goes to help this charity continue its superb work.
