Monkbar's Neil Hudson "Tri-umphs" In Triathlon For Children's Hospice

Nice Tri! Monkbar Hotel’s Neil Hudson presents Martin House mascot, Marty Bear, with a cheque for £300.
A York hotel worker has "tri-umphed" in his quest to complete a gruelling physical endurance competition in aid of charity.
Neil Hudson, a conference co-ordinator at the city’s Best Western Monkbar Hotel, was competing in the Beverly Triathlon to raise funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice.
The competition saw Neil and 300 other competitors swim 400m, cycle 20km and finish with a 5km run. For his efforts, Neil raised a total of £300 for the hospice, which is also the Monkbar Hotel’s chosen charity.
Neil said: “It is tough competing in a triathlon and was certainly a challenge. However, all the training and pain that is associated with it was well worth it as I was raising money for a great cause.”
Brenda Peel, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Martin House Children’s Hospice, said: “I’m full of admiration for Neil and extremely grateful for his support. A physical challenge such as the Beverley Triathlon involves a lot of training and we appreciate every penny that he has raised for us.
“Without the likes of Neil we wouldn’t be able to continue to offer the care and support to the children and their families.”
