Pet Friendly Hotel Plugs Into
Four-Legged Guest’s Needs
Plugged in to the guests’ needs!

A York hotel has “plugged” into the needs of an “anxious and nervous” elderly guest to ensure his weekend away in Yorkshire was a restful and relaxing experience.
But the checking into the Best Western Monkbar Hotel, in York, wasn’t a frail pensioner, but Louis, a 14-year-old cocker spaniel!
Louis, who has recently undergone a series of operations, was coming to the pet-friendly hotel with his owner, Jane Bruce, who was attending a family gathering in the historic city.
On making her booking, Jane, who was travelling from Suffolk, asked the hotel if she could have a room away from other guests, because Louis tended to get anxious in strange surroundings.
Ahead of Jane and Louis’ arrival, the hotel purchased an Adaptil dog collar and Adaptil plug-in diffuser, both of which are proven to have a calming effect on dogs facing challenging situations inside and outside the home.
Jane said: “Louis is an elderly dog and, in recent months, has had a number of operations, therefore I was very reluctant to go away without him. I was also slightly worried about how he would cope, not only with the journey, but once he got to the hotel.
“The Monkbar Hotel team were fantastic. They provided a collar for Louis and a plug-in diffuser for the room. Yes, he was anxious once we arrived, but he soon settled down into his new surroundings. I can’t thank the hotel enough.”

“Four hours before they checked, we plugged in the diffuser and, on arrival, presented him with the collar. And I’m delighted to report both Jane and Louis had a very enjoyable stress-free stay.”
