York’s Best Western Monkbar Hotel has strengthened its senior management team with a key appointment.
Andrew Jones, who has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years, joins the award-winning 99 bedroom city centre hotel as its Operations Manager.
Prior to joining the Monkbar, the married father of three worked at the Best Western York Pavilion and, more recently, at the Best Western Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate, where he was responsible for the day to day operations of the hotel.
June Nelsey, Monkbar Hotel Director, said: “Andrew’s application shone out from the pack and I am delighted that he has chosen to join our team here at the Monkbar Hotel.
“Andrew’s experience, together with his knowledge of the Best Western group, will help us to continue to improve the quality of care and service for which we are renowned.
“His is a key appointment for us and we are looking forward to him joining us as we celebrate 21years as a major player in the city’s vibrant hospitality industry.”
Andrew, who lives in York, said: “This is a great opportunity to return to work in the city of York and I’m relishing the challenge of joining the Monkbar Hotel as Operations Manager.
“It’s apparent that much of the hotel’s success is down to each and every member of staff being valued for their individual contribution. It is a hotel with bags of personality and a great team which I’m looking forward to becoming an integral part of.”
